Single Leg Balance Toss On An Uneven Surface

This is a great exercise for preventing ankle and knee injuries. Injuries often occur when the body cannot stabilize itself in the ever changing environment of a soccer game.  

This exercise teaches the body to adapt by changing 2 factors.

Ground: By training on an Airex (or any soft foam pad) it creates an unstable surface. Even the best fields have ruts, divots, etc. Once you are able to balance on the pad, balance on the field will improve.

Projectile: Adds a second unpredictable factor. Start with a partner tossing a ball. A variation on this exercise is to kick the ball back to your partner instead of catching it.
